MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh and Sehwag are nominated in the ODI player category while Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh and VVS Laxman have got nomination for the Test player of the year award at the prestigious ICC Awards 2009.

Leg spinner Amit Mishra nominated for emerging player of the year award.
Indian skipper Dhoni has been nominated for all three categories—Best cricketer, Best Test batsman and Best ODI player of the year award.Dhoni, Gambhir, Harbhajan also nominated for cricketer of the year award.For Women's category, Indian Mithali Raj has been nominated for best cricketers of the year.
