Vijender in World Boxing semis
Olympic bronze medallist Vijender Singh has created history by advancing to the semifinals of the World Boxing Championships in Milan, thereby, ensuring that India wins its first medal ever at a world boxing championship. In his quarterfinal bout the top seed in the 75-kilogram category defeated Ukraine's Sergiy Derevyanchenko 12-4. It was an easy outing for Vijender. The 23-year-old was leading right from the start.
